The Mountains:One of the most popular reasons to visit Norway, and the Stavanger Region. The two most known hiking destinations from our area is Kjerag, with steep walls of stone rising 1000 metres up from the Lysefjord below, and Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). The stunning view over the fjord has made it the most popular hiking destination in Rogaland County. The area around Sandnes also have very nice options for hiking. Hiking tip: Always remember to bring proper clothing(wind/waterproof), hiking boots, packed lunch and water! The weather can change in short time. Example of good clothing for hiking.
