Air Baltic increases its current flight frequency between Riga International Airport and Stavanger Airport Sola.
Air Baltic was founded in 1995 and is Lithuania’s largest airline. The company’s shareholders are mainly the Lithuanian state and the SAS Group. The company’s base is Riga International Airport, which is situated about 13 kilometres southwest from the capital of Lithuania, Riga. The airport is the largest in the Baltic States.
Lithuanian Air Baltic had 177 197 passengers in January 2009. This is an increase of 17% from the same period last year. At the same time, the airline increased its capacity by 10% and the cabin factor went up by 55%. Currently, the Air Baltic enlarges both the frequency and number of Norwegian cities from Riga this summer.
From the start of their summer programme the 29 March 2009, the airline will expand among others their flights between Riga International Airport and Stavanger Airport Sola from two to three flights a week. The flights are intended on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The flights open up possibilities for other destinations in the world and facilitate making known what the Stavanger region has to offer.
