A path along the railway. In November 2009 a new path opened along the double-track railway that runs between Stavanger and Sandnes. The path, which is 4.5 km long, is ideally suited to walking and bicycling along the scenic Gandsfjord. There are also good opportunities for both swimming and fishing. The northernmost point of the path is the new pedestrian bridge over the railway at Kvalsberg in Hillevåg. Easiest access to this bridge is from the northern side of the road bridge that crosses the double track at Felleskjøpet (a coop) in Sandviksveien, or along the path from Solhøgda in Hillevåg. The path was established as a result of joint efforts by the City of Stavanger, the Municipality of Sandnes and the Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket).
