Region Stavanger BA takes part in a regional project to enhance the Stavanger region's reputation.
Stavanger2008, the European capital of culture year, is over and many ask themselves what the Stavanger region now needs to do to make itself known. How and with what can the region now market itself? The organisation Greater Stavanger gathered five years ago a group of people that were to work on the reputation of and marketing of the Stavanger region. The group came up with the values open, energetic and innovative. The group also developed a toolbox of marketing elements about the region. It was this group that had the idea of a regional recruitment campaign that was implemented in 2006 and 2007.
Greater Stavanger now wishes to revitalise this work and has put together a management group that will continue to work on the reputation of the Stavanger region. The management group consists of Andreas Wullf (GE Money Bank), Johanne Brendehaug (Tine Meierier), Marianne Jørgensen (Sandnes kommune) and Håkon Lund (Kongeparken). The group has been given a great mandate. One of the first tasks will be to define the scope, criteria for success, time frame, strategy and tactics, what message to send out, means and channels. During the first six months of the year 2009, the group will meet three times to discuss reputation and strategy.
In addition, there has been put together a reference group that will give input and suggestions to the management group during this project. This group consists of Andreas Wullf (GE Money Bank), Jannicke Allers (Næringsforeningen i Stavanger-regionen), Tone Grønning (Stavanger kommune), Jan Eirik Gjerdevik (Rogaland fylkeskommune), Anne Selnes (Universitetet i Stavanger), Leiv Gunnar Lie (Universitetet i Stavanger), Inger Lise Aarrestad (Aker Solutions) og Lene Berge Førland (Region Stavanger BA).
